SAAAL Webmaster’s Weblog

About me

Do I really want to start a Blog? I don’t think so, but then again maybe, it might prove to be therapeutic. We’ll see.

Will anything change? I doubt it but then things change ever so slowly at times that there doesn’t appear to be any change at all.

My name is Lloyd Burrows and I am the Editor for the San Antonio Alamo Area Local newsletter, the “Dispatch”. I am also the Webmaster for our Local’s website. http://saaal-apwu.org

I began my postal carrier in 1986 as a part-time regular working 20 hours a week, from 2:00 am to 6:00am, Monday through Friday on Tour 1 pitching letters in 030. When the GMF got our first OCR’s and BCS’s, management had a rough time trying to position them with clerks. They asked the part-time regulars if we wanted to be full-time and work the machines. I’ve been on Tour 1 and working the machines ever since.

Update: 10/20/08 – YAY, I have a new job. I am now pitching flats in section 060. That is when I’m not pulled from my section to… yes, work on the machines!
